Consumer health data privacy policy
This page is for people who live in Washington, Nevada or Connecticut, and for anyone else who wants to read it. It says what the app does with information about your health, if you choose to give it any. It sits beside the Privacy and terms, which it doesn't replace.
In short
- No form in Career Coach asks for your health. Health information gets into the app only if you write it: to the Coach, or in a story, a note, a document or a picture you add.
- It is off until you turn it on. Health and support at work, in Settings › Privacy, starts off. While it's off the Coach is told not to ask about your health, and you're asked to leave health out of what you add. The app can't tell it apart, so what you add while it's off still goes with the tasks that use it.
- Turning it on is your explicit agreement that what you write about your health or a disability is kept and sent to Claude, made by Anthropic, with the tasks that use it, for the reasons under Why it's used, and on what basis. You can turn it off at any time.
- V-Network Solutions doesn't sell it, doesn't use it for advertising, and doesn't send it to anyone to do anything else with it.
What health information the app may hold
- Whatever you write about your health, a condition, a disability or support you'd like at work: in a Coach conversation, practice, the career interview or Getting started, a story, a note on a job or application, call notes, application details, a Library document, a picture you add, a note you send V-Network Solutions or an answer to V-Network Solutions's questions.
- The app doesn't read your body, your location, a wearable or a health account, and it doesn't make a guess about your health. It can't tell health words from other words, which is why the switch covers all of what you write. Please don't add medical records.
Why it's used, and on what basis
- To do what you asked: help with your job search, such as a Coach answer that takes your need for support into account, or a story, resume or note that includes it.
- It is used to do what you asked, on your agreement: the Health and support at work switch. While the switch is off, anything about your health you add anyway is kept and sent because you chose to add it, though you were asked not to, since the app can't tell it apart: it goes with the tasks you press and with a conversation kept warm (What goes to Claude in the privacy statement), and to those under Who it goes to. As with everything you add, it is also used for the other reasons Why it's used in the privacy statement gives: a conversation kept warm keeps the cost of Claude down, backups keep the app safe and working, and a note or answer you send is used to fix and improve the app, and where the law requires it, it is kept or handed over. V-Network Solutions doesn't use it for any other reason, and doesn't build anything about you from it.
Where it comes from
- From you, by what you type, paste, upload or say. Speech is turned into text on your device. Nothing about your health comes from anyone else.
Who it goes to
- Anthropic, which makes Claude, receives it with the tasks that use it, under its commercial terms (no training on it, kept up to 30 days, longer in the cases What goes to Claude says in the privacy statement). It is a company that works for V-Network Solutions on this, not one that decides what happens to it. On your own Claude key, Anthropic's terms for your own account decide what Anthropic keeps and whether it may learn from it, instead (terms, section 4).
- DigitalOcean, which hosts the app, its database and its files, holds it as it holds everything you keep, and Cloudflare, which DigitalOcean uses to carry traffic to the app, carries it. V-Network Solutions runs the app and can reach the server for the reasons Who can see it says in the privacy statement (keeping the app working, fixing a problem you report, or the law).
- V-Network Solutions, GitHub and V-Network Solutions's own Claude account, for a note you send V-Network Solutions or an answer to V-Network Solutions's questions. A note that goes on to GitHub or the fix list goes without your name, as Who can see it says in the privacy statement. Please leave health out of notes and answers.
- Nobody else holds it, unless the law requires V-Network Solutions to hand it over. It isn't sent to a brand, an advertiser, an employer or a data broker. The app doesn't send your location or look for you around any place.
Your agreement, and taking it back
- Turn Health and support at work on or off in Settings › Privacy. Turning it off takes your agreement back from then on: the Coach is told again not to ask about your health, and the words you already wrote stay, and go with their conversation or task, until you edit or delete them. What was already sent to Anthropic stays there as What goes to Claude says in the privacy statement.
What you can ask for
- To see it: the Coach's conversations, stories, notes and documents are in the app. Ask V-Network Solutions and V-Network Solutions sends you a copy of everything held about you, and the names of the companies above, with how to reach each.
- To delete it: delete a conversation or a thing, or your whole account (Account › Delete my account). What remains for a while is in How long things are kept and Delete it in the privacy statement. A deletion reaches database backups within 7 days. A note you sent V-Network Solutions, or an answer to their questions, may also be in their project notes and Claude account, and for up to 30 days in a coding session's record, until V-Network Solutions deletes it; ask V-Network Solutions to. (Who can see it, in the privacy statement.) Or ask V-Network Solutions.
- To take your agreement back: the switch, above, or ask V-Network Solutions.
- V-Network Solutions answers within a month, free of charge. If it will take longer, V-Network Solutions tells you within that month why it will take up to two months more.
How to ask: write to V-Network Solutions through help@vnetkc.com.
If the answer is no
- You can ask V-Network Solutions to look again within 45 days. V-Network Solutions answers within 45 days. If the answer is still no, V-Network Solutions tells you how to complain to your state's attorney general.
Ask again the same way, through help@vnetkc.com.
Changes
- When this page changes, the privacy statement and terms carry the date of the change, and you're asked to agree again before you go on, as the statement's Changes says. What changed on Privacy and terms says what changed.
